EMPLOYMENT
More Bicolanos were employed in January this year, with unemployment
rate slipping to 5.1 percent, 1.0 percentage point lower than the
rate recorded in the same period in 2009. Employment rate improved
to 94.9 percent from 93.9 percent the past year, based on the recent
round of the Labor Force Survey of the National Statistics Office (NSO).
Election-related activities possibly contributed to the increase in
the number of jobs for the period.
