PEACE SITUATION

The Regional Development Council in Bicol expressed alarm after Fr. Leo Casas, social action director of Masbate and concurrent co-chairman of the RDC, reported before the RDC meeting that in the island province of Masbate there’s an election-related killing every 22 hours.

In response, RDC Bicol  initiated a full council resolution that vehemently articulated the collective dismay over the rising tide of political violence and the seeming irreversible deterioration in the peace and order situation in Masbate since it is already affecting the development of the region. RDC Chair Salceda directed the Philippine National Police and Armed Forces of  the Philippines to perform their duties diligently and secure a more viable environment for the people of Masbate to exercise their socio-political rights.
