POVERTY REDUCTION

 

   The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) of Albay released on  March  the P1,400  cash for work benefits to about 9,525 families who were victims of the recent Mayon volcano eruption. Under the program, the DSWD has released P14 million to the provincial government of Albay.

 

   Ten people’s organizations (POs) in the towns of Malinao and Sto. Domingo in Albay received P1 million worth of livelihood assistance from the Sustainable Management of Coastal Resources (SUMACORE) project that they will use in their rice-trading livelihood project in their respective barangays.
