Total population of 15 years old and over
(working age) reached an estimated 3.44 million persons in July,
approximately 5.5 percent of the national total. Proportion of
those who looked for work declined by 0.8 percentage point from
same period last year.
Employment rate improved from 93.4 percent in April to 94.6
percent in July. This was also higher than 94 percent recorded
in July last year. Underemployment rate declined by 3.2
percentage points from a year ago, settling at 34.3 percent.
However, Bicol Region remained to have the highest
underemployment rate among regions of the country.
