NEDA 5 conducts PEP briefing

The Project Development Division (PDD) of the NEDA Region 5 conducted a three-day series of briefings on the NEDA’s Productivity Enhancement Program (PEP) to some 127 participants composed of planning officers, agriculturists and environmental/natural officers from 72 local government units (LGUs) regionwide, last September 9-11, 2009.

The NEDA-PDD panel of resource speakers discussed major topics, which included: an overview on the NEDA-PEP concepts; a comparison of NEDA-PEP with the KR2 grant facility; the project proposal evaluation process; project proposal preparation; the project logical framework; work and financial plan; and preparation of accomplishment and monitoring reports.

Specifically, the orientation clarified such aspects as the eligible projects, activities and proponents; allocation scheme; counterpart requirement based on LGU classification; mode of fund release; documentary requirements; contents of the MOA; and implementation arrangements.

A presentation on the list of projects that have so far been funded by the NEDA-PEP in the different regions in the country provided the participants with project and technology ideas for possible local adoption.
