RDC-Private Sector Representatives  to sit as PDC members

Private Sector Representatives (PSRs) to the RDC5 have gained  the Council’s nod for  their extended involvement as members of  their respective Provincial Development Councils (PDCs).

John Abejuro, PSR-Albay and concurrent chairman of the Development Administration Committee (DAC), said this concern originally emanated from the RDC-PSRs National Conference held last Nov. 12-14, 2008,  at Los Baños, Laguna.

As indicated in action agenda, the RDC-PSRs recommended that they be actively involved in their respective PDCs to promote consistency and to harmonize plans and investment programs between the province they represent and the regional level.

All RDC sectoral committees during separate meetings on July 15 and 16 endorsed the recommendation to the RDC.

The Council acted favorably as it strongly urged PDCs to invite the RDC’s geographic PSRs as non-voting members.
